“Old School”

Nothing beats Frank the Tank doing a beer bong or an old man with two naked ladies in a KY Jelly wrestling match.  It’s o.k. to look away when Frank shows his rediculously white butt in the streaking scene. I would have been the caterer on THAT set!

Slipknot "Slipknot "

The album cover of this self-titled release depicts the members of Slipknot in creepy masks, the dark image confirmed by the presence of a parental advisory sticker. Inside, foul language and subversive lyrics complete the picture. After all the pieces are put together from these nine Iowa-bred artists, it makes for one sic debut album. Check it out now, you won’t be disappointed.

“The Midnight Special” CDs (Various Years)

The Midnight Special is a great time capsule of pop music through the 70’s.  It debuted in 1973 and aired after The Johnny Carson Show.  The Midnight Special was 90 minutes of music guests with a different weekly celebrity host.  Some of the guest hosts/performers included:  Steppenwolf, ELO, Black Oak Arkansas, Rod Stewart and the Faces, Ike and Tina Turner, J. Geils Band, Roger Daltry (of the Who), Peter Frampton and Fleetwood Mac.  As the show developed Wolfman Jack became the show’s announcer and eventually a regular host. The show showcased the best of the pop acts of the time, but, eventually it slid into the insanity that was disco in the later 70’s.  As the disco fad faded, so did the show.  The Midnight Special bowed out and was replaced with SCTV 90 (Second City TV) in May 1981.

"National Lampoons Vacation"

I’ve now seen this movie 4 hundred 86 thousand times.  Some of my favorite moments are the little things.  I love at the beginning of the movie when Chevy and Beverly are washing the dishes and talking about their vacation.  But really, she’s just wiping the uneaten food off the plates, and he’s using a towel to wipe them clean and put them back in the cupboards.  I’ve been doing I like that for years now.
